Prologue Photo Analysis
In the Prologue of Breaking Night, Liz Murray goes into great detail to describe a photograph of her
mother. She thoroughly explains the photograph to the readers. She makes it obvious that the photograph
is special to her.
You have your own photograph that is special to you; you are going to write a three paragraph reflective
composition that models Murray’s form and structure. You need to closely analyze the first three
paragraphs of the Prologue and determine the purpose of each paragraph. Then, model and organize
your writing based on Murray’s by structuring your paragraphs similarly and by using descriptive and
thorough details.
You will be assessed on your ability to:
