Caption Please write a short abstract for your entry that will provide the judges with some background information on your entry. The abstract should be no more than 150 words and should address the following: The research context to help the judges understand what they are looking at in the visualization (i.e. frog embryo at 100X magnification) How the visualization transforms non-visible knowledge into a visual representation Since judges may not be familiar with your discipline, please try to make your description as nontechnical as possible. Video Entries Since the judging committee will focus their judging on 5 minutes of your video, please indicate the starting timestamp (in min:sec) for the 5-min video excerpt you would like the judges to focus on: ____ : ____ Software Entries In addition to a caption statement that describes the type of visualizations that the software can produce, participants must include detailed instructions about how to use the tool. We encourage all software entries to be easy to use. Judges will evaluate your entry by using your software for 5 minutes maximum. Therefore, it is important to submit a small written user guide/script to guide the judges in the use of your software. Since providing jury members with access to the software may take some time, people submitting in this category should send, by January 1st, an email to vis-awards@tufts.edu informing us of your intent to submit a software entry and how we might contact you to discuss it.
