Day! You will be treated to motivational speakers, participate in activities to learn how to have optimal success
as a student, meet new friends and staff, as well as many other fun surprises! What do you need to do to
prepare for this day? Wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. We will be in and outside throughout the
day. You will be getting a white Husky Pride T Shirt to wear, so plan accordingly! You will be able to buy your
lunch in the cafeteria, but a packed lunch from home will give you more time to enjoy some fun activities. Bring
a marked water bottle with your name on it, and something to write with, and prepare to have FUN and show
your PRIDE to yourself others!!!

meet new friends and staff, as well as many other fun surprises! To prepare for the day be thinking about your
Heritage. You will be ask to draw pictures representing you and your culture. Tonight, find a few small pictures
from home that represents you and your culture, and bring them with you. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes
and tennis shoes. We will be in and outside throughout the day. You will be getting a white Husky Pride T Shirt
in homeroom to wear, so plan accordingly! Lunch will still be served in the cafeteria. Bring a marked water

the daily trivia question. Each day, you will hear the first line of a book. If you know the novel, write down your
full name, HR and of course the title on a slip of paper and turn it in to the trivia box in the library by the end of
5th period each day. Here’s today’s clue: Which novel opens with the line, “Are you sure you’re all packed?
You’re not forgetting anything?” Any ideas? Write down your answer and turn it into the library. Good luck!
Huskies, We hope that you had a great time at our First Annual Heritage Team Building Pride Day on
Friday! You had a chance to hear some wonderful speakers, learn a bit about yourself as a student and team
player, enjoy some fun, games and beautiful weather! As you start your week, what is your purpose? How will
your purpose show respect, independence, and discipline? Each day take some time to evaluate your purpose
and make changes for optimal success as a student, friend and person! You are all valuable and

Sports Report:
Last night the Husky Cross Country team faced a tough Gahanna East team. Scoring for the boys were
Holloway in tenth place, Bass, Yeager, Braskett and Cruz. Placing in the top top ten runners for the girls were
Cripe in 2nd, Shoemaker in 7th and Fagan in 8th. Also scoring for the Huskies were Lynskey and
Schmitt. Great job Huskies! Our next meet is at Home next Tuesday, September 1.

Don’t forget to let your parents know that the book fair will be open tonight for Curriculum Night. Send them with
your wish list of books. Tomorrow is the last day for the book fair! We close at noon so make sure to get there
in the morning.
Tomorrow is Flashback Friday! During SSR, students and staff will be asked to reflect in your PRIDE journals
how you are using PRIDE at Heritage. Remember, everything you do should have Purpose, Respect,
Independence, Discipline and Evaluation. It is always a good idea to put your goals in writing, so think hard
about what changes you will make for next week. Don’t forget to have a plan to go with your goal, because a
goal without a plan is just a wish! Show your HUSKY Pride, today and everyday to make this year, this school

Sports Report:
The 7th grade Husky football team came out firing on all cylinders last night in a 12-6 defeat of Gahanna East
Middle School. After an opening 4th down stop on defense Ty O'Hearn took the Husky offense's first play from
scrimmage 75 yards for the first score of the game. Late in the second quarter, Husky quarterback Kenton Flood
hit Eli Pugh for a 20 yard passing strike to regain the lead. From there the Huskies never looked back as the
defense stood strong pitching a
second half shutout. Be sure to come out tonight to support the 8th grade as they have their opening game of
the season at Gahanna East Middle School and both teams next Wednesday as they have their home openers
in a double header at North HS!
