Our word of the Month is RESPECT. Treating people with respect makes your world a nicer place to live in,
whether it is at home, school, or out in the community. And it’s easy - all you have to do is treat people the way
you like to have them treat you. Here are a few ideas to try.
 Don’t insult or make fun.
 Listen to others when they speak
 Value other people’s opinions.
 Be considerate of people’s likes and dislikes.
 Don’t mock or tease
 Don’t talk about people behind their backs
 Be sensitive to other people’s feelings.
 Don’t pressure someone to do something he or she doesn’t want to do.
This week we are focusing on Lending a Hand at Heritage to make this the best school in Westerville. Pick up
after yourself, leave no evidence that you were at breakfast, lunch, the classroom, restroom or in the locker bay.

Word of the Month is RESPECT. Being respectful is one of the key ingredients to being the best person you
can be. To learn more about respect, start by checking out some of the great respect quotations
“Every human being, of whatever origin, of whatever station, deserves respect. We must each respect others
even as we respect ourselves.” – U. Thant
“Never judge someone by the way he looks or a book by the way it’s covered; for inside those tattered pages,
there’s a lot to be discovered.” – Stephen Cosgrove
“Leave everything a bit better than you found it.” Unknown
