Good Morning Huskies! Today is Monday, November 2. We are on a “B” schedule today.
Husky Headlines:
Word of the Month is Tolerance
Every person is special and unique in their own right. Tolerance is accepting that every person is
different, and giving each person respect for those differences.
As we practice tolerance, don’t forget the Core Value Challenge we started last Friday. Keep your
word, Loyalty, Honor, Respect, Duty, Service, Courage and Integrity in every aspect in your life
especially here at school.
Hopefully you have all decided to show your PRIDE by participating in one or more of this month's
initiatives gearing up for Veterans Day next Wednesday. We need to fill up our wall of honor by
placing a Veterans name on a brick honoring them for their service. Tomorrow would be a great day
to create a poster or write a letter to a veteran thanking them for their sacrifice to our country. See
your social studies teacher for more details. We will also be collecting items for the military in our
Homeroom Fill a Bag Make a Flag contest. The winning homeroom will win a donut party! So let's
get busy Huskies and see how you can make a difference and show your PRIDE, respect, citizenship
and tolerance!

both of them a happy birthday!!
Husky Headlines:
The word of the month is Tolerance
Tolerance is having an appreciation for other people’s differences and cultures. Accepting all
the good and bad about someone. It's a great thing to aspire to. The hard part is actually
doing it. We can all use our good manners and be polite and show our PRIDE. Keep in mind
the word you chose to follow in the Core Value Challenge. Honor, Loyalty, Respect, Duty
Integrity, Service, Courage. If you have lost your bookmark or would like another one, please
stop by room 200.
Next Wednesday is Red White and Blue Day in honor of Veterans Day. We will have a
special assembly in the morning with many guests to celebrate and learn more about this
important day. Please get involved by showing your support with one or more of the activities
listed on the Veterans Day fliers hanging throughout the building. See your social studies
teacher for a brick to honor a Veteran near and dear to you. Posters and Dear Veteran letters
can be turned into the office, your favorite social studies teacher or room 200.
Originally called Armistice Day, Veteran's Day is observed across the United States every
year on Nov. 11. The Armistice to end World War I was signed during the 11th hour of the
11th day of the 11th Month - November 11, 1918. In 1954, former president, Dwight D.
Eisenhower officially changed the name to "Veterans Day" so veterans of all wars would be
honored.
And now for today’s Veteran Day trivia question: Which branch of the military is the
oldest? The Coast Guard, Air Force, Army, Marines, or Navy (repeat) Put your answer along
with your name on a paper and turn into the box in the office.
Attention all you rippin’ huskies! Only 66 more days until our first trip to Snow Trails! All

The word of the month is Tolerance:
These are three important traits of tolerant people:

tolerance. A tolerant individual never starts a conflict unnecessarily.
