Up to 50% of TPP’s are evident on CXR on
the day of the event because it is thought
that the parenchymal contusion hides the
pseudo-cyst for 8-10 days until the
contusion has time to resolve. It is also
associated with, most often, hemothorax,
pneumothorax, and rib fractures,
depending on the severity of trauma.
The relationship of severity of chest
trauma to the size of the pseudo-cyst, is as
follows: > 4cm are seen in patients with
multiple injuries requiring mechanical
ventilation and usually have bilateral
pulmonary contusions; < 4 cm were
observed to have unilateral (lobar)
contusions and minimal respiratory
involvement. These lesions effect the
lower lobes; present on CT Scan as oval
cavitary lesions with air-fluid levels
surrounded by areas of lung contusion.
Resolution can occur at 16 weeks with
conservative watch/see approach, i.e. selflimited.

olabilir.

travmalar ile ortaya çıkıyor, bilateral
kontüzyon, <4 cm olanlar tek taraflı
kontüzyonlarda ve minimal etkilenmde
görülüyor. Alt loblarda, oval kaviter
lezyonlar şeklinde ( hava-sıvı seviyesi
içeren) ve kontüzyon alanı ile sınırlı
Rezolüsyon 16 haftada, konservatif
izlem ile.

HYPOTHESIS
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) induces arginase
which competes with iNOS for
L-arginine availability that in turn impairs T cell
immune response. Blocking arginase or IFNg
inhibition can reverse T cell functions improving
the immune-response and the clinical outcome of
patients with TB.
