Employee Responsibilities
At the beginning of the Performance Period
 Review your unit’s performance evaluation process with your supervisor
 Receive a statement of your units goals and the relationship of those goals with the campus’s
strategic plan from supervisor
 Receive your current job description from supervisor
 Review your performance expectations with your supervisor by going through the evaluation form
Midway through Performance Period
 Meet with supervisor to receive an informal review of performance
Near the End of Performance Period
 Attend Training for Staff on Preparing a Self-Evaluation
 Receive a timeline from your supervisor on the performance evaluation process
 Receive dates of Self-Evaluation Training
 Receive the due date for your self-evaluation to be submitted to your supervisor
 Receive the date of your one-on-one performance evaluation meeting with your supervisor
 Ensure all meeting dates are secured on your calendar
At the Conclusion of the Performance Period -- Prepare to Meet with Supervisor to Discuss
Performance
 Receive your current position description from your supervisor
 Receive the performance evaluation form to use when completing your self-evaluation
 Write Your Self Evaluation
 Use current job description
 Document status of goals
 Document training/professional development goals
 Draft performance goals for upcoming year
 Draft training/professional development for upcoming year
 Identify career interests
 Meet with supervisor one on one to discuss performance evaluation
 Obtain supervisor’s feedback on your performance
 Determine performance goals for next year
 Determine training/professional development for next year
 Determine career interests
 Sign the evaluation
 Receive a copy of the evaluation from your supervisor for your records
