





Have a Grade 12 Certificate
Have Math’s (D) HG and Science (D) HG with a final admission points score (APS) of 21. Note: Life
orientation is excluded when calculating APS (Diplomats)
For Graduates: Have Math’s (B) HG and Science (C) HG with a final Admission Point Score (APS) of 30.
Note: Life orientation is excluded when calculating APS
Have a valid medical certificate
Have good communication and leadership skills
Have good interpersonal and problem solving skills
Be energetic and self motivated
Have strong team work ethics
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical
examination at the relevant Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre.
Advantageous:

Rock Breaking Certificate (Level 3)/ Blasting Certificate
Key responsibilities include:





Following the laid down learning programme as prescribed by MQA, Training Institution, Goldfields,
South Deep, etc.
Committing to abide by the Goldfields policies and values during the training period
Being a team worker when doing practicals in any Operation during the training
Complying with health and safety rules and regulations, e.g. wearing appropriate PPE
Committing to adapt to work odd cycles/hours while working in production sections

Shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo psychometric evaluation as part of the selection
process. Successful applicants will be required to sign a training contract for the duration of the
training programme. The training contract is not a contract of employment.
Preference will be given to learners residing in the South Deep Host Communities and Labour
Sending Areas as well as female applicants.
