International Nuclear Track Society 25th International Conference on Nuclear Tracks in Solids 4 al 9 de septiembre del 2011 Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla Puebla, Pue., México. The "25th International Conference on Nuclear Tracks in Solids" (25th-ICNTS) was held from 4 to 9 September 2011, at the facilities the “Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla” (BUAP), with the participation of more than 95 professors, researchers and students from different national and foreign institutions in over 23 countries, with representatives from 5 continents, and the presentation of 163 research papers in the area of nuclear track. The conference is focused on the topic of Nuclear Tracks in Solids (TNS), where were presented papers on fundamental aspects, technological advances, applications in different fields, and above all released new ideas for the future of Nuclear Tracks Methodology. Among the guest lecturers we have the doctors Luigi Tommasino (Italy), a pioneer in the methodology of TNS, and inventor of the electrochemical etching process for the formation of tracks in nuclear particle detection, Shi-Lun Guo (China), a leading the issue of predicting earthquakes by TNS, SK Chakarvarti (India), an expert in the formation of nanotubes by TNS; Valery Ditlove (Russia), expert in the study of dark matter using the track method, Hermsdorf Dietrich (Germany), an expert on fundamental aspects of the formation of track ; Francesco Boccicchio (Italy), expert in the study of indoor radon and its effects on public health in Italy, Tomoya Yamauchi (Japan), which specializes in the production of new polymeric materials for TNS, Carlos Domingo (Spain), expert in neutron detection and personal dosimetry; Julio Hadler (Brazil), expert in fission track geochronology; Laszlo Sajo-Bohus (Venezuela), Jorge Rickards (Mexico) and Julio Herrera (Mexico), experts in the interaction of radiation with matter and plasma. In addition to many other colleagues, each experts in the field of TNS, in their respective countries. 6 Plenary talks were given, 7 invited talks, 48 oral presentations and 102 posters. Besides the presentation of the "Art Gallery", with images of nuclear track formation, which by its structure and beauty can be considered art. As a result of this conference, and the importance of the interaction of specialist colleagues in Nuclear Tracks in Solids of the five continents, will publish the papers presented at the 25th-ICNTS, as a special issue of the journal Radiation Measurements (Elsevier), following the double referee rules as usual in this journal. The presidium of inauguration, was honored with the presence of Dr. Pedro Hugo Hernandez Tejeda, Vice-Rector for Research and Advanced Studies (BUAP), Master Máximo Romero Jiménez, Director of the Council of Science and Technology in the Puebla State, Dr. Gerardo Martinez Montes, Director of the University Center Linking (BUAP), Dr. Luigi Tommasino, and Dr. Guillermo Espinosa, President of the International Nuclear Track Society and organizer of international conference. Among the institutions represented, we can mention: Institute for Nuclear Physics and Particles (Germany), University of Sydney (Australia), Centre de Recherche Nucleaire d'Alger (Algiers), Physique et de Chimie Laboratorire Rayonnements (France), Manav Rachna International University (India), Amikabir University of Technology (Iran), Universite de Bamako (Mali), Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics (Russia), Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain), Andrzej Soltan Institute for the Nuclear Studies (Poland) Italian National Institute of Health (Italy), China Institute of Atomic Energy (China), National Taiwan University (Taiwan), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (USA). Among the social activities on Wednesday, September 7 in the evening, there was a visit to the archeological site and the center of Cholula, the site museum, colonial monuments and the typical market. This visit coincided with the annual “Feria de Cholula”, which gave a special boost to the visit. During this visit, were took the photographs shown below. The "25th International Conference on Nuclear Tracks in Solids", was organized by the Instituto de Física de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (IF-UNAM), la Benemerita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) and the "International Nuclear Track Society" (INTS), having to host the beautiful eighteenth century building, nominated the “Carolino” (BUAP). There had the logistical and administrative support of the University Center Link (CUV-BUAP), with financial support from the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT), the Latin American Center for Physics (CLAF), Institute of Physics UNAM (IFUNAM), the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of IPN (CINVESTAV), Council of Science and Technology of the State of Puebla (CONCYTEP), and the company Radosys (Hungary), design and construction of instrumentation for the application of nuclear track methodology. And as always, with the valuable support provided by the Sociedad Mexicana de Fisica (SMF) and its Board. Guillermo Espinosa President International Nuclear Track Society
