Develop cultural sensitivity. Function within past, present, and future contexts. C. Therefore you will receive credit only for those assignments that are completed ON TIME! Each complete assignment will receive 10 points unless stated otherwise. Partially complete or late assignments receive 0 points except in extreme circumstances. Points will be recorded on your homework tally sheet and recorded in the grade book after every 5 assignments. Assessments: Within each chapter you may complete announced or unannounced quizzes and tests. Students will always be aware of what they are expected to know. Assessments provide opportunities to show that you have mastered the material without studying. If you have to study for a quiz, you may be learning for short-term memory. To acquire language for fluency, we want to learn for long-term memory. Make-up: It is your responsibility to get your own make-up work. Talk to your partner about what you missed. Make up work by the required deadline: 2 days per excused absence, within 1 day per unexcused absence. All quizzes/tests must be made up within one week. If you miss a quiz or test, you will have to see me to schedule a time to make it up. Academic Honesty and Integrity: Unless it is specifically stated that you may work with a partner or with a group, work should be completed independently. Putting your name on a paper means that you are claiming the work to be your own. Please refrain from using translating programs. Translating programs are doing the work for you, often incorrectly. If you do not perform your own work on an assignment, project, quiz, or test, you will earn 0 points. IMPORTANT EXPECTAITONS, RITUALS AND PROCEDURES EN LA CLASE DE SRA. JARAMA 1. EL RESPETO: Respect yourself and others. Insults and negative comments will not be tolerated. Support classmates and bring a positive attitude into class each day. Ask permission any time you need to get out of your seat. Show respect for all materials and equipment. You are responsible for any writing that may appear on your desk and/or in your book. 2. Be on time and seated when class begins. If you arrive late you will be sent to sweep. Profe will greet you with, “Buenos días or Buenas tardes, clase”. You will stand and respond with “Buenos días or Buenas tardes, Sra. Jarama”. When you hear me say, “siéntense”, you may be seated. 3. Food, beverages (with the exception of water) and gum are not allowed in class. 4. Cell phones should not be seen nor heard. If you use one in class it will be taken away. 5. Be a good listener. When one person speaks, all others should be listening. I can tell you are listening if you are sitting up straight with pens or pencils down.
