Letter to AYA Clinical Faculty
Dear Clinical Educator,
We are most grateful that you have agreed to accept a UD preservice teacher for
the next semester as a student teacher. Your mentoring skills as well as pedagogical
know-how will help the preservice teacher grow into a value-adding educator. We
wanted to let you know that the UD preservice teachers will be returning to work with
you on January 12, 2009.
In our effort to better prepare the preservice teachers, we are conducting a one
week, intense Capstone Seminar at UD from January 5th to the 9th on campus. I am
attaching the schedule of topics that will be covered that week. The meetings are planned
to address issues that the preservice teachers have identified as concerns that they have,
such as: technology in the classroom, classroom management, working with diverse
populations, and legal concerns. One of the expected outcomes for the week is that the
UD preservice teachers to have written the introduction, literature review, and
methodology for their Action Research paper and project. The completed project and
paper will be presented at a symposium at the end of the student teaching semester.
