The mission of the University of Dayton’s (UD) School of Education and Allied Professions
(SOEAP) is “building learning communities through critical reflection.”
The vision of the School is to prepare distinctive graduates who will effectively and efficiently
utilize the highest quality of learning, leadership and scholarship to build strong learning communities
and develop collaborative, caring partnerships.
The four principles/outcomes of the SOEAP are: (1) to embrace diversity for the promotion of
social justice, (2) to engage in building community, (3) to develop as a scholar practitioner, and (4) to
engage in critical reflection.
