CQI Steering Committee Meeting

Update on Standard Reports and Exhibit Lists.
Eakle Barfield submitted the report for Standard 8, Physical Resources. Jane Howell
is working on Standard 5, Library Resources.
Each of the subcommittees needs to make sure exhibit lists are completed and the
listed exhibits are all together by mid-May.
Matt Redinger pointed out that he does not have the standard 4 information for the
College of Technology. It was pointed out that Valerie Martinez, Vern Gagnon, Liz
Tooley or Craig McKenzie should be able to assist him with that information. Matt
also pointed out that he has run into stonewalls with getting the summary of faculty
achievements. Mary Susan and Tasneem said that information should be included
with the
During the month of May, Mary Susan and Tasneem will work on putting together the
first draft and will submit it to the Chancellor at the beginning of June with the full draft
to the mock visit reviewers sometime between August 1st and the 15th.
Vern reminded the group that he learned from the self-study workshop he attended in
February that the document should be easy to read and each page should have a
picture, table or graph included. The ones that they read at the workshop included
tabs for each of the standards.

Report from COE regarding accreditations for the College of Education.
Mary Susan gave a report of the NCATE process. She passed out the document
titled “COE NCATE GAP ANALYSIS – April 2007” to the CQI members. The NCATE
Committee has been functioning for two years and focusing on the standards as listed
on the document. Mary Susan and Kathy Kelker recently attended NCATE training.

Update on Annual Reports.
The data on student enrollment, faculty workload and graduation information was sent
to the department chairs. Linda Wham is completing her work on the Table 1 reports
and they will be sent out sometime during the week. The annual reports are due April
30th and Patty will send out another reminder.

Survey Reports.
 Employee Survey closed April 16th. Overall response rate 51%.
Patty will be submitting the data to Joe Floyd to analyze.

Alumni Survey has closed. PEG presented results April 18th.
The initial report gave strategies to approach new alums. We need to working on
increasing alumni presences. The survey will provide guidance to the new Alumni
Director, Julie Seedhouse.

Employer Survey Update.
Sheila McGinnis reported that she and Dave Sullivan will meet with Joe Floyd to
discuss cost and sample.
