LSA Meeting Minutes, February 9, 2007 Present: Julie Dyles, Deb Raftus, Diana Hartle, Matthew Pulver, Anne Meyers Devine, Jason Hasty, Rachel Parnell, Kelly Hickey, Ryan Perry, Michael Swacha, Emily Luken, Viki Timian, Chandra Jackson Business discussed: --Pete McBrayer spoke to us about SRG (Staff Representative Group), explaining what it is, why it was formed, how it works, and how its mission and scope differ from LSA. Several people had questions and suggestions, especially as to the current status of the Libraries SRG representatives. --Report on preparations for the flower sale. Flyers have been posted, and a call sent out for volunteers and materials. --The group discussed ways in which we could market LSA inside the libraries. Some of the various ideas were to emphasize our charitable activities, create an LSA quarterly newsletter, post updates of our activities on the website, and send personal invitations to the new employee breakfasts. At this time, it was decided to focus on producing a quarterly newsletter, although we may implement some of the other ideas in the future. --Spring Staff Party: the party will be held on Wednesday, March 14, from 5-9 at the Little Kings Club. A committee made up of LSA, Admin, and other interested folks has formed a planning committee. --LSA Bookclub: Ann Meyers Devine has been attending the Bulldog Book Club for ideas on how to start and maintain an LSA book club. --Bowling Team: Matches have been switched to Monday nights at Kingpins. Our bowling team now has 8 members, and their first game is February 19 at 6:30. ---Annual dues drive coming up Submitted by Chandra Jackson, LSA Secretary
