11. A brick walkway forms the diagonal of a square playground. The walkway is 24 m long. To
the nearest tenth of a meter, how long is a side of the playground? Draw a diagram first!
12. The mast of a sailing ship is 20 feet tall. A rope is stretched 26 feet from the top of the
mast to a cleat on the deck of the ship. How far is the cleat from the base of the mast? Draw a
diagram first!
