IPA: En Mi Ciudad Midterm: Study guide for Interpersonal and presentational assessment Interpersonal: Dialogue As part of your midterm grade you will have a conversation a classmate dealing with a scenario given to you on the day of the exam. You will be expected to sustain a conversation for at least 1 minute. This assessment is not meant to be prepared ahead of time. It should be a spontaneous production of the target language. In order to prepare you should: Go over vocabulary from “Saludos y Despedidas”, “En la escuela”, & “En mi ciudad” Review grammar notes and make yourself comfortable with greeting others and saying goodbye, telling others what you have to do or what you don’t have to do, invite someone somewhere, describe where something is located, decline an invitation and say why, tell time or mention a time. Ask/answer questions Presentational: Writing On the day of your midterm you will read a writing prompt in addition to a map. You will write about some locations and things you like to do at each location. You will be expected to give directions as well. In order to prepare you should: Go over vocabulary from “Saludos y Despedidas”, “En la escuela”, & “En mi ciudad” Review how to greet and say goodbye in a letter form, talk about what you like to do or can do at various locations in the “yo” form, invite someone, give proximity of location, give detailed directions from one place to another using a map. Use connecting or contrasting words.
