Mitosis Lab Report Guidelines
Introduction:



This section should include a detailed description of each phase of mitosis
(multiple paragraphs).
Discuss the differences between mitosis in animal cells and in plant cells.
State the objective of the lab.
Methods:


You should be describing what you did step-by-step in the lab.
This section should be written in paragraphs.
Results:



You must include a sketch of each phase of mitosis.
You must include the data table that has the cell counts for the whitefish cells
as well as for the onion root tip cells.
You should show me your percent of total cells counted calculations and the
calculations that allow you to determine the longest and the shortest phases
of mitosis.
Discussion:



Tell me what the longest and shortest stages of mitosis are and more
importantly, tell me WHY those stages take the most and least amount of
time.
Give me a detailed description of meiosis (multiple paragraphs).
Give me a summary of the similarities and of the differences between mitosis
and meiosis.
