Writing your essay:
Introduction
 Begin with the title of the play and the author's name.
 Interpret the essay topic and put it into your own words; this will become your thesis
statement. The two characters or events you will discuss should briefly be mentioned in
your thesis.
Body #1
 Topic Sentence. Begin discussing the first character or event mentioned in your
introduction. Be clear about what role the character plays in the demise of R &J.
Body#2
 Topic Sentence. Begin discussing the second character mentioned in your introduction.
Be clear about what role the character plays in the demise of R &J.
Conclusion
Rephrase your thesis statement. What conclusion can be drawn from the information provided
in your essay? Remember, your conclusion should not simply be a repeat of your introduction.
*You may use a maximum of two quotes from the play. When quoting the play:
"Parting in such sweet sorry that I shall say good night till it be morrow." (II, ii, 194-185)
