FILM # 1 – “LAST DAY” SUMMARY – A high school senior attempts to make the most of his last day of school, challenging himself to approach a girl he’s always liked, and avert the school bully. Michael-17,is the protagonist of the story and an introvert who wants to break out and find himself as well as win over a girl he has liked for a long time. Michael’s Mother- Older women around the age of 40, who is a very caring and understanding mother that annoy her kids just make sure they are happy. Michael’s Sister- 16, she wants to stay as one of the popular kids and doesn’t understand that Michael doesn’t play a role in affecting her social life with her friends. Francis- 17, A very close friend to Michael, very supportive person and always trying to the right thing to help Michael. Allison-17, Very nice sweet girl who is an overachiever but just doesn't understand some people Samatha- 17, A girl who is very much in love with Michael and tries to win him over and make him happy.But sometimes tries a bit to hard. Anthony- 17, is a headstrong teen who is super popular and tries to have things his ways to things from interfering with his life Mr.Thompson- Rather young teacher around his mid 30’s. Is very strict teacher but is pretty cool if you do the work he assigns and listen in class. The shower curtain opens fast, which appears to be by itself and scares MICHAEL. Michael’s sister does not like Michael because she feels as though he reduces her popularity. MICHAEL Uh----- how did you get . . .? MICHAEL is speechless and shocked. MICHAEL’S SISTER Don’t ask questions, but one thing I want to tell you is that you better not mess up this last day of school for me. MICHAEL goes back to brushing his teeth. MICHAEL’s SISTER leaves shot, then reappears in the doorway. MICHAEL’S SISTER And I wouldn’t use that toothbrush if I were you. Michael’s mom MICHAEL’S MOM Good morning dear. Oh I can't believe you're all grown up now. I remember when you were just a small boy. You were so cute and small. I could just pinch your cheeks Francis and Michael MICHAEL gets jump scared. FRANIS (Laughs)Wow! I didn’t even try that hard. Thanks, I find that scare as a compliment to me. Francis is a very good friend of Michael’s, and always tries to look out for him. MICHAEL (Breaths out loudly)Yeah, thanks. I always know that whenever I need something to just annoy me when I’m focused, I can just count on you. FRANCIS Free of charge, sir. But I don’t work weekends. So, how have you been? MICHAEL Good. How about yourself? FRANCIS Good. I just came from the auditorium and man is it a mess. MICHAEL Let me guess they tee peed it. FRANCIS Yup. MICAHEL That’s is really cliche. SFX: The bell rings) MICHAEL Hey, I have to go class Francis, but maybe I’ll see you later. FRANCIS Alright. I’ll catch up with you later. Bye Michael and Mr.Thompson MICHAEL jumps right up. MR.THOMPSON I know this last day of classes Mr.Schmit but please try to pay ateention. Because if you don’t I can have you serve a detention instead. MICHAEL I understand MR.THOMPSON. I’m sorry, Sir. MR.THOMPSON Well, we haven't heard from you yet Michael. So tell us, what college will you be attending Michael? MICHAEL grins. MICHAEL I will be attending Cornell and studying Pharmaceutical Drugs. SFX: The bell rings an MICHAEL rushes over to ALLISON. MR.THOMPSON Good luck to all of you in your endeavors. Remember you were trained by me, the best, don’t forget. Allison and Michael MICHAEL Hey Allison, how are you? ALLISON Hey, I’m good you’re . . . ALLISON points to MICHAEL, implying for him to finish the sentence. MICHAEL Michael. ALLISON That’s right. I remember; we’ve talked before. MICHAEL Yeah, we have. Soooo . . . Awkward pause settles in. MICHAEL looks nervous again. MICHEAL I was wondering if you were busy during lunch. I had some questions about Swarthmore. (V.O.) That's not true. My cousin is actually attending that school this year. (V.O.) That's more of a lie. ALLISON Oh, really? What’s his name? MICHAEL His name is (looks around the room and takes a name off the wall) George, yeah, he didn’t went to this school.. ALLISON Ok, well, I’ll see you at lunch. Bye. MICHEAL OK. Bye, meet me by the tables that are next to vending machines. ALLISON OK. MICHEAL Now just time to wait and rela INT. CAFETERIA - AFTERNOON Scene cuts to him suddenly at the cafeteria, pacing back and forth. MICHAEL Where is she? ALLISON runs into MICHAEL and gets ketchup on his shirt. ALLISON Oh my god, I’m so sorry. I'll get some napkins for you. Anthony and Michael ANTHONY Whats wrong with you, bud? How about you get up? Anthony is Allison’s boyfriend who think’s he’s all that. MICHEAL What is it and what do you want? ANTHONY I’m her man! That’s why I’m here! MICHAEL Well, I’m so sorry sir. (Sarcastically) Could you just leave me alone. ANTHONY No. I heard what you said so you better listen to allison. MICHAEL Shut up. Anthony's friends tense up. ANTHONY Don’t guys. ANTHONY But I gotta give you a warning. Samatha and Michael SAMATHA Hey! (Samantha is a very nice girl and cares a lot about Michael, but Michael finds her creepy and annoying.) MICHAEL MICHAEL gets jump-scared by SAMANTHA being behind the his locker door, when he closes it. MICHAEL sighs, then coughs to clear his throat. MICHAEL Hey, Samantha. SAMATHA So, what are you up too? MICHAEL I’m just packing up my books. Don’t want to really fail on the last day of class or anything.(sarcasm) SAMANTHA puts her hand on MICHAEL's arm. SAMATHA You’re so funny. You know, I feel just, really nice around you. MICHAEL Oh, um, ok. Thats nice I guess. SAMATHA Hey, are busy after school? MICHAEL (immediately after) Yeah, I think, you know I have to goooo with my mother to the saloon. MICHAEL starts to walk away and SAMANTHA starts to follows him at a distance, but not to far away. SAMATHA Can I come along? MICHAEL I don’t know I would have to ask her and it would be like this whole big thingSAMANTHA interrupts SAMATHA Hey! What are you doing for prom?! Will you go to prom with me? MICHAEL (shock) Well, I don’t know. You know, that’s kinda of a big question. SAMATHA Yes, and I want an answer. SFX: Noises get louder. MICHEAL I have to . . . ummm . . . use the restroom. MICHAEL escapes to the boys bathroom SAMATHA Grrrr almost.(murmurs) FILM # 2 – “The Diary” Allie (Scene 3) - A calm and reserved 17 year old girl who can also get sassy and angry when she needs to be. She tries to keep her feelings to herself because she doesn't want to express them. Luke (Scene 3) - A usually positive and upbeat boy who is always willing to help Allie. He always wants the people around him to be happy and is always there when Allie needs a shoulder to cry on. Jacob (Scene 5) - Although he isn't the loyalist boyfriend to Allie, he still has a heart to try to fix the tension they have. He might not be the best at trying to fix situations, but he still does his best to turn it around. AUDITION SIDES FOR “THE DIARY” SCENE 3 – INT. Luke’s house Allie and Luke are sitting on the couch talking Luke: If you have a feeling that he’s cheating then why are you just coming to me expecting me to do something? He’s your boyfriend. Allie: Because I really need help on what to say. I can’t just call him out on it and say it straight out that he’s cheating on me. And to be honest, I really don’t want to think that he is. Luke: Well, you need evidence then. Allie: How do I find evidence? Luke: It’s the 21st century, Allie. There’s this thing called “social media”. Allie: I know I’m not an idiot. Luke: Well, when was the last time you checked his? Allie: I don’t know, maybe last week. Luke: Why so long ago? Aren’t you suspicious? Allie: Of course I am, but I don’t want to see that its true, so I figured just not looking at it would keep me happier. Luke: I know you want you to be happy, and I want you to be happy, but avoiding it isn’t going to solve this. Luke takes Allie’s phone and unlocks it Allie: I really don’t want t--Luke: Trust me, you do. Luke goes on Allie’s Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat and looks up in confusion Allie: What? What is it? Luke: Um, I was trying to find a nice way to say this but, Luke blocked you on everything. Allie: No way he would do that to me. Luke: Allie, stop being in denial. Open your eyes. Allie: Fine. Luke: Let me check mine. Allie waits patiently, anxious Luke: Gosh… Allie: Luke don’t even say it. Don’t even tell me I’m only going to be even more upset and I really don’t want--Luke: He’s with Lily. Allie: Lily doesn’t go to school with Luke and besides they dated two years ago. Luke: From these pictures, it’s clear that they reconnected. Allie looks over Luke’s shoulder to see the pictures. Allie (choked up): So she transferred and now they’re a... Luke: ...couple yeah. Allie stands up and puts her face in her hands. Luke: I’m sorry. Allie: Say it. Say I told you so. Say you told me before he went away to college he was gonna do this to me. Luke pulls Allie into a hug Luke: I would never say that. Allie cries into Luke’s shoulder Allie: I’m gonna go home... Luke: Why? You’re just gon--Allie: I’m alone either way it doesn’t matter. Luke: It does matter. Stay here. Allie: No I’m done! Allie slams the door behind her SCENE 5 – INT. Allie’s house SFX: CAR HORN HONKING Allie trudges out of bed to see Jacob standing against his car looking up with a grin to Allie in her window. Allie has a confused look on her face. Jacob: THAT’S RIGHT! I’M HERE FOR YOU ALLIE Luke runs outside to Jacob’s car. Allie sees Luke and Jacob starting to argue and quickly runs downstairs. Allie: What the hell is going on? Jacob why are you here? Jacob: (trying to pull Allie in) I came to get you back, babe. Luke: Don’t touch her! Allie: I can handle this Luke. (glares back to Jacob) Please just go back to college or home or wherever you should be. Jacob: Not without putting up a fight for you. Allie puts her hands on Jacob. Allie: Seriously, stop. Jacob: You’re going to regret this. Allie: (sarcastically) Yep. Absolutely. Sure. Jacob continues to glare at Luke as he walks slowly to his car and starts it (Camera faces Allie and Luke as they watch him drive away). SFX: CAR SPEEDING OFF Allie runs back into her house. Luke is standing on the sidewalk and then finally decides to go after her. Allie: You can’t just walk into my house! Luke: Yeah I can because I’m not holding this back anymore Allie: What? Luke: Allie, Jacob doesn’t deserve you. guy would be lucky to have you. you it gets better. You’re an incredible girl and any I know this sucks now but I promise And if it could start with me taking you out, that would be an amazing start because Allie I care about you so much and I could never imagine my life without you. There’s nothing I want more than for me and you to be more than friends. Allie stands in shock. Luke: Trust me. Like you always have. Allie: I do. Allie throws her arms around Luke FILM # 3 – “FRIDAY NIGHT” “FRIDAY NIGHT“ – Thriller. Three friends decide to hang out together, but soon enough weird things start happening. They are being watched and targeted by someone unknown. DAKOTA He will be here soon guys. FILM # 4 – “THE TEXT” SUMMARY: A teen boy is suspicious of his girlfriend’s fidelity, but refuses to see how he may have contributed to her actions. CHRISTOPHER is your typical boy next door. Nothing too ordinary, nothing extraordinary. He's sweet, caring, emotional and a little too possessive. Anything he does isn't out of harm, but curiosity. BRITTANY is the all American Dream girl. She's always dressed to the nines, and keeps her appearance in check. However, can be a little vein because she's aware of her looks. Any attention she gets, Brittany embraces it. Even if it harms her relationship. MATTHEW - teen has a friendly demeanor about him, very approachable. Audition Sides for “The Text” SCENE 1 – BRITTANY AND CHRISTOPHER CHRISTOPHER Who’s Matt? BRITTANY (grabs the phone away from him.) A friend. Is that an issue? CHRISTOPHER Uh, yeah. BRITTANY Oh, is that so? I can have friends. I’m allowed to have a social life, and know people other than you. CHRISTOPHER I don’t see your point. You’re mine, no other guy should be talking to you. SCENE 1 – BRITTANY AND MATT BRITTANY (on the phone) It’s like he doesn’t trust me anymore! MATT (v.o) I don’t like the way he treats you. You’re more so a trophy to him rather than a partner. FILM # 5 – “CLAIRE-VOYANT” SUMMARY: A teen girl discovers that she has the powers to hear the thoughts of those around her after an accident in the school chemistry lab. Claire 17 - incredibly smart who keeps to herself unless she is with her best friend. She is constantly being bullied, but knows none of this matters because she is off to do bigger and better things, feels conflicted when deciding if she should do the right thing. Harry (girl or boy) - Harry loves comic books; reads them all the time and that eventually leads to helping Claire understand her powers. Heather - very popular and is the school’s bully. She is very methodical and devious but has a charming quality about her. Mom Claire’s mom is very sassy but doesn’t want to hear it from her daughter. Science Teacher -the science teacher is tired and just wanted to go home. Math Teacher - the math teacher is disappointed with the class because most of the class failed the test. So he/she will re-teach the lesson and re-test those who failed while those who passed are exempt. Audition Sides for “Claire-voyant” CLAIRE Yeah, it was so weird. I could have sworn I heard her say it. HARRY That is really weird. (V.O.) You need to get more sleep because you’re going crazy. CLAIRE Hey, no I'm not. HARRY No you’re not what? CLAIRE I’m not going crazy. HARRY I didn’t say that. CLAIRE Oh my god! Yes you did! I heard you say it. HARRY I said that in my head. Hey, maybe you can read minds. CLAIRE Now you sound like the crazy one. 8.INT.HALLWAY - DAY They both walk into the hallway and a jumble of voices flood into Claire’s head. She grabs her head and almost collapses and places herself on the floor. Harry kneels on the floor next to her. HARRY Whoa, hey are you okay? CLAIRE (calms down) Yeah, I think I’m okay. I just heard a bunch of voices, got overwhelmed. My head was pounding. HARRY Okay I’m being 100% serious right now. Either you have the power of telepathy or you’re going crazy. Harry HARRY Well, we can at least figure out how your power works. CLAIRE Fine. HARRY Well, when we walked into the hall a flood of voices rushed into your head right? CLAIRE Yeah. HARRY So you weren’t thinking of anything. The voices occupied the empty space as if a door was open. So all you have to do is keep the door closed. CLAIRE You make it sound so easy like I’m supposed to understand how to do it in like two seconds. HARRY Imagine a door inside of your head and you have the key to keep it closed. If you ever need to listen to someone’s thoughts, just open it up with the key. CLAIRE That actually sounds really smart. Hey Professor X, how’d you come up with something like this. HARRY I just read a lot of comic books. Heather HEATHER What’s up nerd? Claire tries to ignore Heather. Since I was able to steal the test and pass without a problem, I’ll just as easily steal the answers to the midterm. Since after this period, this teacher and I have this period free, he leaves the room unlocked and goes to the bathroom. That is when I’ll go back inside go into the desk and take the answers. FILM # 5 – “THE LAUGHING HEART” SUMMARY: The lives of three different teenagers are shown over the course of time, their struggles reflected in a narrated poem. Most roles are non-speaking. **ALL KID CHARACTERS CAN BE EITHER GENDER** Kid 1: KID 1 is an expressive, typically optimistic teen. However, in this midst of his parent’s volatile daily arguments, he find himself extremely alone. Kid 1 is in a rut, constantly focused on his hard home life. He hopes to get things back to normal, that his parents will stop arguing, and feel like himself again, by hanging out with friends, going out more, and being more positive. Kid 2: KID 2 is an energetic motivated teen whose mind is focused on the future. This focus has begun to consume every aspect of his life, and he is constantly finding himself overworked and exhausted. Kis 2 aspires to have a promising future and is extremely dedicated with a strong work ethic. However, his plans for the future have him missing out on the present and he is over-worked. Kid 2 begins to notice how his current life is being dragged out by his future plans. Kid 3: KID 3 is outgoing, relaxed, and has got plenty of loyal friends. However, the recent break-up between he and his ex has his him stuck on their past memories and out of touch with the rest of his life. Kid 3 has just gotten out of a long and serious relationship, and is missing his ex. Although he’s constantly surrounded by a great atmosphere, he can’t help but to have his mind fall back on their memories and wish that things could go back. Kid 3 is looking for something that is gone. Man: MAN voice tells he is angry at his wife; stubborn sounding and unhappy. Woman: WOMAN’s tone is upset but not pugnacious, just frustrated with husband’s behavior. FILM # 6 – “BAD BROTHERS” SUMMARY : A teen must make a difficult moral choice when he discovers that his best friend is in the possession of drugs. Terry Floyd - 17 - Smart, and understanding; confident, but sometimes indecisive when the stakes are high; cool and collected at most times, but takes action when necessary; a natural altruist; not overly productive, but is responsible when he needs to be. Lamar Jackson - 17 - Intelligent and sometimes even smarter than Terry; very aware of his responsibilities and actions, and he is smart enough to manage his time wisely; independent, but isn't always perfect; slightly misunderstood and underestimated. Macy Jackson - Somewhere between 20 and 25 - Sassy; Lamar’s sister who has a harsh way of showing her affection; reasonable, attractive and cute; acts in a demanding way; tries to keep things organized and as perfect as possible. (He exits the kitchen, passes the dining room and enters the living room.) (Shouting) You saw the game last night? TERRY I don't watch soccer. LAMAR Nah, bro. Ball? TERRY Yeah. (He retrieves a small bottle of protein mix from the cabinet and sets in on the table; the bottle seems untouched.) Yo! LAMAR Yo! TERRY (Shaking the container) I can take some? LAMAR Hell, take the whole thing, bro. TERRY I'll take it home. (He leaves the container on the dining room table which is practically clear.) LAMAR Go ahead. TERRY (Approaches the living room and grabs a seat on the couch. Lamar, on the other hand, is sitting down a chair on the other side of the room. The television is on, and Lamar has the remote, but he tosses it to Terry when he enters.) What's on? LAMAR Nothing. TERRY What time you leaving tonight? LAMAR I'm driving to my sister's house around eight or nine. TERRY Damn, I need to start driving, bro. LAMAR Then start. TERRY You seeing your other sister in Florida, too? LAMAR Yeah, it's her birthday. Everyone else left earlier today. I'm only still here because I had school, and my sis had work. TERRY This weekend gonna suck. LAMAR (With laughter) You gonna miss me?
