DHOTI SCHEME RESTORED ON OPPOSITION DEMAND.
Chennai : Jan 7, The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president, M. Karunanidhi today said the state
government had decided to restore the free saree-dhoti scheme because of the demand raised by
opposition parties including DMK.
In reply to questions, he said the revival of the scheme was not sufficient to alleviate the suffering
of weavers. More over the decision showed that the general election was nearing, he said. Asked about
