OPTIONS B AND C: Extracurricular Service Learning
HIGH SCHOOL REFLECTION PRESENTATION
You will turn in your Service Learning timecard(s) to your Service Learning coach
and make an appointment for a reflection presentation on the dates set for your
school. You must show up for your reflection presentation in order to have your
hours added to your transcript. Only one project and presentation is required
regardless of the number of timecards you are turning in to the coach.
FIVE POSSIBLE FORMATS
*You MUST turn something in at your presentation*
 Essay responding to the topics on the reverse side
 Annotated poster (pictures and memorabilia with written answers to the
questions)
 Scrapbook or annotated photo album
 Video or powerpoint presentation – preapproval from coach required for
tech set-up
 Your choice: Get approval from your Service Learning Coach
 NOTE: Your “speech” is based on one of these formats. Just getting up and
verbally answering the questions below is not an acceptable reflection
presentation.

THE FIVE TOPICS THAT MUST BE INCLUDED
1. Where did you perform your service learning activity? If you have served
there previously, why have you chosen to continue? If not, why did you
choose something different?
2. What activities did you perform at those sites, and who or what
were you helping? Again, if you served at this site before what
changes were there for you from previous years?
3. How has this service activity been meaningful to you and why? What life
skills or career skills have you learned from your service?
4. From the list below, choose at least 2 Common Core Standards you feel
were addressed through your service activities and explain how they relate
to your work. Also, how will you use what you learned from your service
activities in the future?
5. What recommendations can you give to younger students who are
starting out with service learning? Based on your service and personal
experiences, what changes would you like to make in our community,
society or the world in general?
