Before mailing, you MUST email the following to IO (io@ied.edu.hk) for checking: 1. scan copies (in .pdf/jpg format) of completed Application Form; and 2. scan copies (in .pdf/.jpg format) of Visa Application Form; and 3. all required documents (refer to check list below); and 4. a digital photo, i.e. professional ID photo, passport photo, (in .jpg format). This is so we can check in advance whether there is anything missing to avoid extra postage charges and/or delay caused by omissions. Application Deadline For any training period falls in Fall Semester (September – December): End of March For any training period falls in Spring Semester (January – May): End of September Subject to the requirement of each individual school, shortlisted applicant(s) may be invited for a phone / online interview. Schools are strongly advised to adopt the scheme and request their prospective employees seeking child-related work or work relating to mentally incapacitated persons to undergo SCRC. DECLARATION OF INSURANCE ARRANGEMENT It is mandatory for student teachers to make their own arrangements for travel and health insurance to cover the entire period of training in Hong Kong. Insurance coverage should include (but not limited to) travel, personal accident, medical expenses (accident and non-accident), hospitalization and emergency evacuation/repatriation. Students are required to provide proof of coverage prior to arrival. I hereby declare that I will arrange my own insurance at my home country and provide details of the coverage to HKIEd International Office (IO) prior to my arrival in Hong Kong. I understand that it is my responsibility to maintain a valid insurance during the entire period of training in Hong Kong. Should I fail to do the above, I am solely liable for any consequences that may arise. Please mark “X” where appropriate 8. VISA APPLICATION FEE (HK $160), ADMINISTRATION & COURIER FEE (HK $300) Once admitted, you are required to pay a total of HK $460 for your Visa Application Fee (HK $160), Administration & Courier Fee (HK $300). The payment shall be made by credit card and the fee is non-refundable. It is important to note that your visa application will not be processed until your payment is received and your will be fully responsible for any consequences arise. Payment procedures will be provided to you in due course. I understand that if admitted, I am responsible for applying to the Immigration Department of Hong Kong (via HKIEd International Office) for a training visa for the entire period of training in Hong Kong. In addition, I understand that I am required to pay a non-refundable fee of an amount of HK $460 to HKIEd International Office to cover the cost of visa application, administration and courier postage.
