Application Form for International Teacher Training Programme
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
The COMPLETED Application Form, Visa Application Form, and all required documents must be mailed to HKIEd
International Office (IO) before the designated deadline via registered mail/international courier.
Before mailing, you MUST email the following to IO (io@ied.edu.hk) for checking:
1. scan copies (in .pdf/jpg format) of completed Application Form; and
2. scan copies (in .pdf/.jpg format) of Visa Application Form; and
3. all required documents (refer to check list below); and
4. a digital photo, i.e. professional ID photo, passport photo, (in .jpg format).
This is so we can check in advance whether there is anything missing to avoid extra postage charges and/or delay
caused by omissions.
Application Deadline
For any training period falls in Fall Semester (September – December): End of March
For any training period falls in Spring Semester (January – May): End of September
Subject to the requirement of each individual school, shortlisted applicant(s) may be invited for a phone / online interview.
Result will be announced via email within 4 weeks of the application deadline.

International Office/Study Abroad Office of home institution certifying the applicant’s English Proficiency

Guidebook and Form are available on the HK Immigration Department website at
http://www.immd.gov.hk/en/forms/hk-visas/training.html. Please read all information thoroughly before you fill in the
said form.
Recent photo affixed on the application form
A clear copy of your Travel Document (the page containing personal particulars and issuance and expiry dates)
Your travel document is valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay in Hong Kong
Signed your name at the bottom of ALL pages as requested (i.e. Page 1 to 4)
As successful applicant will not receive any remuneration for this programme, a copy of your Proof of Financial
Standing is required (e.g. latest bank statement, certificate of deposits or payroll slip of the applicants/your
supporting family members)
(If your proof of Financial Standing does not belong to yourself):
- A supporting letter signed by the account holder (signature must be the same as the one on passport)
- A copy of account holder’s passport (the page shows personal particular & signature)

* To enhance protection of children and mentally incapacitated persons from sexual abuse, the Hong Kong Police
Force under the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has launched the Sexual
Conviction Record Check (SCRC) scheme with effect from 1 December 2011. Schools are strongly advised to
adopt the scheme and request their prospective employees seeking child-related work or work relating to mentally
incapacitated persons to undergo SCRC. As the SCRC scheme does not cover overseas sexual conviction record,
given the importance of protecting our students, you are highly recommended to provide certificate of no sexual
conviction record or other lawful documentary proof issued by the place of residence as additional information
for selection purpose.

7. DECLARATION OF INSURANCE ARRANGEMENT
It is mandatory for student teachers to make their own arrangements for travel and health insurance to cover the
entire period of training in Hong Kong. Insurance coverage should include (but not limited to) travel, personal
accident, medical expenses (accident and non-accident), hospitalization and emergency evacuation/repatriation.
Students are required to provide proof of coverage prior to arrival.
I hereby declare that I will arrange my own insurance at my home country and provide details of the
coverage to HKIEd International Office (IO) prior to my arrival in Hong Kong. I understand that it is
my responsibility to maintain a valid insurance during the entire period of training in Hong Kong. Should
I fail to do the above, I am solely liable for any consequences that may arise.

8. VISA APPLICATION FEE (HK $160), ADMINISTRATION & COURIER FEE (HK $300)
Once admitted, you are required to pay a total of HK $460 for your Visa Application Fee (HK $160),
Administration & Courier Fee (HK $300). The payment shall be made by credit card and the fee is non-refundable.
It is important to note that your visa application will not be processed until your payment is received and your
will be fully responsible for any consequences arise. Payment procedures will be provided to you in due course.
I understand that if admitted, I am responsible for applying to the Immigration Department of Hong
Kong (via HKIEd International Office) for a training visa for the entire period of training in Hong Kong.
In addition, I understand that I am required to pay a non-refundable fee of an amount of HK $460 to
HKIEd International Office to cover the cost of visa application, administration and courier postage.
