Tanya is excused from this meeting due to personal reasons. Open House: Dinner was provided for the teachers. Teachers agreed that it was very good and thank the PTA. Accept the Arizona PTA bylaws: Jessica asks if we can have more vice presidents. Jackie says we only need the 4 main officers right now. Andrea motions to accept the bylaws. Jackie accepts. 2. Vice President’s Report Membership update (this was skipped due to Tanya’s absence) 3. Treasurer’s Report Last year’s earnings Accept a budget: Andrea shared a first draft of the budget for the 15-16 school year. At least 4 fundraisers are in the works. Anticipate net of $8,000. We have to pay the AZ PTA. This is our best guess for right now. Last year’s expenses: teacher appreciation, POP (quarterly celebrations for good behavior), Title I dinner annual commitment, STUCCO, Literacy Night, Step Up Day/Night, 8th Grade Bash, Rockin Rhodes, PTA insurance, miscellaneous. Dr. R. approves this budget. $350 check is coming in from Chipotle. Membership update Tax postcard needs to be sent in $175 needs to be paid to Arizona PTA Need to gather materials needed for supplemental insurance 4. Secretary’s Report No report 5. Principal’s Report PBIS has been rebranded to POP. Grade level assemblies started the year off. Students learned about the expectations in their classes. Much smoother start to the school year (no construction issues like last year, the office was ready, etc.). All students know POP. Positive results in the cafeteria (kids cleaning up after themselves). Excited to continue that process. Tier 2 academic and behavior interventions for targeted students has begun (checking in and out with a teacher role model/mentor). 6. Maria Huntington’s Report Title I dinner on Thursday, September 24 at 6PM (250 sandwiches, 125 bags of chips). Last year all of the food went (we were short). Are there other food options that are less expensive? Andrea proposes that Maria gets the extra money. $620 enough money? It would cover 250 sandwiches, chips, cookies. She has 4 cases of water left. She will see if Albertson’s will donate the rest. Jackie seconds Andrea’s motion. Maria puts the order in and then we gave Maria a check made out to Food and Nutrition. 7.
