SAGE SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS &
APPLICATION FORM
The SAGE office has scholarship funds for both short-term and semester study abroad programs for students
in financial need. The award of these funds is competitive and will be based on the number of applicants and
the quality of the applications received.
In order to apply, you must be enrolled at Valencia and in the process of applying to or have already been
accepted into a short-term or semester program. Awards range from $500 to $1500 for short-term programs
and from $1000 to $5000 for semester programs.
Scholarship award payments will be made directly to your program provider for both short-term and semester
programs.
PLEASE NOTE: If the SAGE office is purchasing your airline tickets directly, you cannot apply the scholarship
amount to the ticket purchase. In the even that you cancel, there is no refund and you will keep the ticket for
future use.

 Unofficial transcript
 One letter or email recommendation from a Valencia faculty or staff member giving supporting reasons
why you should receive this award.
DOCUMENTS TO SUBMIT FOR A SEMESTER PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:
 SAGE Scholarship Application Form (signed and dated)
 Unofficial transcript
 One letter or email recommendation from a Valencia faculty or staff member giving supporting reasons
why you should receive this award.
 Study Abroad Budget Worksheet (fill out the entire form)
 Course Pre-Approval Form (signed by the program dean)
 Consortium Agreement for Study Abroad (signed by the Academic Advisor, program dean, and Financial
Aid Advisor)
 Upon Scholarship Approval: Submit your program invoice. Valencia will make the check payable
directly to the program provider.

approval of your scholarship.
