Words/concepts that should be included: community, students, recycling, transportation/multi-modal, social justice, curriculum, food. Connect to college mission and values. Members to continue to email Rae buzz words and other mission statements. Approval to rotate campuses for meetings. Rae will work with Jerry for remote access options. August meeting will be a conference call. Transportation Task Force meetings will begin again next meeting. All members to attract student through their classes or daily job functions Although the committee will continue to be a place to discuss new ideas and initiatives, the general purpose of committee should be to implement the Climate Action Plan (CAP), Sustainability Action Plan (SAP), and to fill in the gaps of our Sustainability Tracking and Reporting System (STARS) report so we can bring ourselves up to a Gold rating. Should focus on quality not quantity of sustainability projects. First concentrate on making the butterfly garden beautiful. All issues should be emailed to Rae to add to the agenda to improve time management and efficiency. Our strategy is to remain out ahead of issues by engaging and shaping the persons and systems causing the issues for sustainability implementation (example: PACU coating on parking lots). Rae will begin using 5 minutes of each facilities meeting to discuss sustainability topics. Need better integration into more areas such as service learning, SGA, international curriculum, etc. Provide stakeholders with vision well ahead of time through pictures, designs, articles, videos, and conversations to gain support and understanding. Email campus specific Green Apple Day of Service (in September) ideas to Rae. Energy Education program has saved 1.3M this year
