Portfolio Guidelines
I.
Purpose:
The purpose of the EPI portfolio is to document that you have met the standards outlined by the Florida
Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPs). The competencies outlined in the FEAPs must be met in
order to be considered a highly-qualified teacher in the State of Florida. The portfolio also documents
that you have satisfactorily passed all of the major assignments in the EPI courses.
II.
Content:
The portfolio should contain revised learning artifacts and/or assignments from each of your EPI
courses. The artifacts and/or assignments should reflect your competency on each of the Florida
Educator Accomplished Practices (NOTE: One artifact may exemplify more than one competency.).
Any evaluation rubric used to evaluate the artifact should also be included. In addition to the artifacts
and/or assignments, your portfolio should contain a copy of the lesson plan used for your teaching
demonstration and a copy of your teaching demonstration evaluation.
III.
Organization of Portfolio:
Your portfolio should be organized as follows:

The first folder should be called and contain your Teaching Philosophy (See Example 1).

You should then have a folder called “FEAPs” (See Example 1). This folder will have a folder
within it for each of the EPI courses (See Example 2). In each course folder, you should have an EPI
Learning Artifact Cover Page (See page 5) and the artifacts that demonstrate the FEAPs listed in
the Evaluation Form. You only need one FEAP Artifact Cover Page for each EPI course.

Finally, you should have a folder called “Teaching Demonstrations.” In this section, you should
have copies of the lesson plans used for your teaching demonstrations, lesson plan analysis, any
handouts, quizzes, or PowerPoint presentations used during the demonstrations, and a copy of the
completed teaching demonstrations evaluation form. If you are a current teacher, then you must
submit the two lesson plans and analysis of each for the 0940 and 0945 courses along with your
most recent teacher evaluation signed by your school administrator

IV.
Format for Learning Artifact Cover Page:
The guidelines are meant to help you complete the portfolio requirement for EPI program. The purpose
of the Learning Artifact Cover Page is to explain how the artifacts from each course demonstrate your
mastery of specific FEAPs. Remember one artifact can demonstrate multiple FEAPs. All FEAPs
should be accounted for in the portfolio (See Form Template). You should put as many artifacts as
necessary to demonstrate competency.
V.
Submitting Portfolio:
When you are ready for your portfolio to be submitted, you must burn the portfolio to a CD, put the CD
in a jewel case, and put a cover in the jewel case with your name, VID(Student ID), and contact
information. The CD containing your portfolio should be brought or mailed to the EPI office on West
Campus. The Director will only contact you if there is a problem with your portfolio.

VIII: Portfolio FEAPs Competency Matrix:
The following document, the Portfolio FEAPs Competency Matrix, describes what you should have in
your portfolio within the FEAPs folder. You should have each of the artifacts in a separate file. You
should also have separate files with the graded rubrics (NOTE: If you do not have the graded rubric,
you may submit a blank copy of the rubric.) as well as the portfolio cover page with a 1 page singlespaced reflection of how the course content and artifacts enable you to demonstrate the identified FEAP
competencies for that course. For example, in EPI 0001, you should have 7 files: 3 files for the artifacts,
3 files for the artifact rubrics, and 1 file for the portfolio cover page.
