Lunch & Nap Procedures
If your child is scheduled to stay for the extended day program, your pickup time is 2:00 pm for rooms
1 & 2 and 2:15 pm for rooms 3, 4, or 5.
If your child is scheduled to stay for the full day program, your pickup time is between 2:00 to 4:30 pm
for rooms 1 & 2 or 2:15 to 4:45 pm for rooms 3, 4, or 5. Please note: there is no pickup prior to 2:00
pm due to the necessity for keeping the rooms quiet and calm for napping children. Pickup time is no
later than 4:30 pm for rooms 1 & 2 and no later than 4:45 pm for rooms 3, 4 or 5.
Our Extended Care Team* (comprised of our most experienced ECE Apprentices) will be supervising
the extended and full day programs. Parents are encouraged to communicate closely with Center
staff to establish a consistent schedule for the transition home.
Parents should provide a nutritious lunch for their child each day consisting of a protein food such as
a meat (NO SHELLFISH), cheese, or egg sandwich and finger vegetables and/or fresh fruit. Please
limit the amount of food to help the child’s ability to eat the entire meal, eliminate waste, and keep to a
timely schedule. Help your child by cutting their food into bite-size portions. No sugared foods or
drinks (such as fruit rollups, chips, candy, cookies, Kool-Aid). Please limit any drink to either a milk
(not chocolate) or 100% fruit juice (do not send 2 drinks). And, NO NUT PRODUCTS (this includes
all types of nuts, due to severe allergies) – please see the attached information on “nut-free menus”
for suggestions.
Please note we do not have a refrigerator to store the lunches; therefore, please add an ice pack to
your child’s lunch box. Also note there is not a microwave available for heating lunches. Children's
lunches are stored in the Lunch Basket adjacent to the classroom doors and should be picked up
daily at the designated departure location.
Since your child stays for nap, he or she may bring 1 small thin blanket and/or 1 small soft comfort
item (stuffed animal). Please bring your item(s) in a cloth, re-useable shopping bag (less than 12”).
Please write your child’s name on it. Items need to be small enough to place in a cubbie.
If you have any questions, please speak with either your classroom teacher or myself.
*Our Extended Care Team consists of Michelle & Amanda (rooms 1 & 2); Stephanie & Giana (Room 3);
Justine & Megan (room 4) and Lisa & Tomoko (room 5)*
