2. How can an EU level industrial policy support research and
innovation by businesses in the single market?
3. Research is a key policy towards the achievements of the
Lisbon goals. Discuss whether the Lisbon goals in this
direction have been now missed and explore the human
dimension of research and the implications of brain drain, by

the euro area performance indicators, as well as the evaluation
of the link existing between the Lisbon objectives and those of
the monetary union.
