Q1. Can I do the management report in conjunction with my dissertation?
Yes, the management report can be done in conjunction with the dissertation but only
where it fits with appropriate subject matter as well as individual and organizational
needs. Students must keep in mind that MRR subject matter is typically determined by
the organization in accordance with guidelines we provide and often in discussion with
us, and it is not required to be as academic as the dissertation. MRR is designed to be a
more “practitioner” based piece of work.
Q2. Can we do the management project in pairs?
Pairs can only be made if the organization and the professional stream coordinator feel
that the project is large enough that two people would be required to fully cover the topic.
In such cases students are required to hand in two separate reports.
Q3. Will we automatically become members of CIPD?
King’s will register students with the CIPD in January 2011, and everyone gets a
registration no/ key through King’s. In order to become members and have access to all
the facilities provided by CIPD students need to join and pay a membership fee.
