LEARNING OBJECTIVES/OUTCOMES
As an undergraduate generalist social work student, your learning goals should reflect efforts to
demonstrate skills in all areas of the problem-solving model (interviewing & relationship building;
assessment & planning; intervention; termination & transition; and evaluation). In addition, these areas of
practice should reflect all levels of systems: individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.
These learning goals will become the basis for evaluating your accomplishments and performance in the
field practicum.

The student must demonstrate an ability to
adopt a professional role by assuming
responsibility to meet agency and class
work standards, by behaving appropriately
towards clients and colleagues and by

Context of Practice
The student will become familiar with
agency structure, organization, and
operation.

The student will become familiar with
community resources in order to make
effective referrals.
