EDUC 601—MEd Terminal Project Awarding of Credit Candidates for the MEd may write a terminal project in one of three configurations: Option A—Research Project; Option B—Research Report; or Option C—Curriculum/ Instruction/Assessment Project. Here is how the 5 credits are awarded for each: Credit Awarded 1st credit 2nd credit 3rd credit 4th credit 5th credit Options A and C Approved completion of Chapter 1 (Introduction) All of the above plus approved completion of Chapter 2 (Literature Review) All of the above plus approved completion of Chapter 3 (Project Design [Option A] or Curriculum Design/ Instructional Plan [Option C]) All of the above plus approved completion of Chapter 4 (Project Implementation and Analysis [Option A] or Assessment and Evaluation [Option C]) All of the above plus approved completion of Chapter 5 (Conclusions and Reflections [Option A] or Predicted Implementation and Reflections [Option C] and successful passing of oral defense Option B Approved completion of Chapter 1 (Introduction) All of the above plus approved completion of Chapter 2 (Literature Review) All of the above plus approved completion of Chapter 3 (Research Analysis) All of the above plus approved completion of Chapter 4 (Recommendations) and successful passing of oral defense As candidates complete the work for each credit, the instructor assigns a grade of Y (“Work in Progress”). If a candidate does not complete the work in the matrix above, the instructor awards a grade of NP (“No Pass”). Once the student completes the work to the instructor’s satisfaction, the instructor will change the grade from NP to Y. Please note that candidates who receive a grade of NP may not be eligible for further financial aid. When the candidate successfully completes orals, all 601 “Y” grades are changed to “P.” Rev. 05.27.2015
