E4J Bachelor of Human Movement with Honours as at 14th May, 2002 Bachelor of Human Movement with Honours Abbreviation: BHM(Hons) Course code: E4J Course contact (faculty or school) (03) 6324 3337 Introductory comments The honours program is an alternative final year of the Bachelor of Human Movement course for selected students offered by the Faculty of Education at Launceston. Admission & prerequisites Students in year three of the Bachelor of Human Movement course are able to express their interest in undertaking the final year as an honours student. Such students would have successfully completed all units in years 1 and 2 and have attained a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.25 in their year 3 results. It should be noted that the GPA may be altered at the Dean’s discretion on advice from the Head of School. Invitations are made by the Head of School of Secondary and Post Compulsory Education to students in any specialisation of the Bachelor of Human Movement. Course objectives The Bachelor of Human Movement (Honours) provides students with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to conduct research in the diverse fields of human movement knowledge. This course will also prepare students for future higher degree study. Course structure The honours year includes most facets of the Bachelor of Human Movement course but makes provision for students to undertake the Research Seminar and the Honours Seminar and Dissertation. Schedule A outlines the BHM year 4 program for each of the approved specialisations while Schedule B outlines the BHM (Hons) program for these specialisations. Students from other universities with prerequisites acceptable to the Faculty may be accepted as candidates for the Bachelor of Human Movement (Honours) degree.
