Committee metting date 11/01/13 Call to Order at 3:05 Quorum established with 4 voting Brady: We’re looking at OB-13F-2727. This is a bill will combine SAC and UAC under one committee. It will delete Title 13 completely, and Title 12 will be revised. Every OB must be passed from every committee involved to make sure and can be seen at senate. It could not go through UAC because they did not have quorum, so it went through CSC. Informal vote: All said “I” Anderson: You all received an email from me about the roundtable event on the 6th and 7th of November. I am requiring a half hour. On Tuesday it’s Elections and Appointments and Wednesday the topic will be parking. Each person will be receiving a burger, veggie burger, or hot dog. $3 a person. They had a minimum of $800 a day. Extra $75 for the lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The event is from 11 AM to 1:30. The volunteer times are from 10:30-2:30 eahc day. We are moving forward with Osprey voice. It can’t be through computers. We would like to move forward with Ipads, but even if we do a special request we would not receive it until after November. Reich: If we do the older system of Yes and No questions, it will be easier to quickly go through them due to our time crunch before the 22nd. Anderson: I think we will do 2 or 3 questions. Louis you can do a paper one, but I will try to make time slots available for online. I’m going to say that we should do osprey voice on November 19-20. Any body think of any bad ideas that would be associated with that? (Silence) Good deal. That completes my old business. I am working on the Greek connection. I am also waiting for emails back on residence life. New Business Anderson: You need to sign up for this event. We will be handing out forms and when they are answered and returned the students will receive a meal ticket. Emily and Carlo may be speaking at this event. The second day we will be talking about parking. The smell of veggie burgers will bring everyone out! Many members of the parking advisory board will be present at the roundtable to inform students. I think we have a very knowledgeable board to lead the discussion. Paige: The 7th is when they’re going to have a memorial that ends at 11:30. Market days are on Wednesday. We have it every year. That may be a little hastle to you. Anderson: As far as funding. We are looking at a $1600 bill for both days. There may be some ways to move extra funding if the omnibus passes at senate. I’ve tried to make the budget as feasible as possible. You are all requested to attend. Anderson: I think that closes that. Any more discussion? Now we will discuss further osprey voice questions. Bachman: I think with the Ipads I think even though we can get them now, we should push for them in the near future. Anderson: There are several ways to go about getting the Ipads. Special request, it could be tied to every senator gets one, if you would like further explanation I would suggest talking to Joe Turner. Reich: Not to beat a dead horse, but would we do that in lu of the scholarships? Anderson: Possibly, but there are a lot of unanswered questions. We have discussed sending surveys online. I have talked to others and I don’t want it to seem confrontational. Reich: Something that I think would be beneficial would use it WITH Osprey voice. Bachman: I think it as junk mail. We receive so many of these emails and most of them get deleted. Henning: I think it is a good idea, because we can reach all 16,000 students. You could get people at home, people who missed class. Reich: A lot of people would delete it, but at the very least it will give everyone the same opportunity to see these questions. Henning: You would send it Friday and have it last a few days. Stovall: What would be the incentive? Anderson: Pure feedback Stovall: Do we have a raffle system? Reich: How many people did the osprey voice? I think it was about 600. That seems like a big enough number to go forward with this. Anderson: Let’s have in the wording of the mass email. Specifically who will be compiling these specific results? It will definitely be presented at senate by the USA or SAC chair. On the 19th and 20th we’ll bribe Daniel into helping us. The online mass email we have a good amount of time to prepare. I see that as a good discussion. “You are asking to be pounded by Reich” Any further discussion? Seeing no further discussion we’ll move on to announcement. Anderson: There will be an election for the new SAC chair. Reich: Brady will probably have the bill to have the committees combined so the election will be for the USA chair. Anderson: Hennning will you go to the final roll call? Adjournemt: 3:46 Final roll call: Hamid, Henning, Stovall, Grego, Bachman
