a. Executive Appointments
i. Osprey Production Director : Katie Jackson

Last year I worked in Club Alliance. My major is Communication, with a concentration in
Public Relations, and two minors in Community Leadership and Political Science. I
started in Student Government with Osprey Productions and I want to go back to that
because I felt that was where I did best. I was a volunteer there, than I did the MELT
program, came back sophomore year as a Coordinator working under John. After that, I
worked in Club Alliance as the Assistant Director and then Director. I am very passionate
about the students and I one day hope to be an event planner. I feel Osprey Productions
is great because we get to be involved with the students in a way that entertains them. I
want a big name concert in the Fall/Spring and I feel that I can successfully work with
everyone to make the students satisfied.
o
Chairman Ascanio: How do you think you can improve advertisement for Osprey
Productions? – My major is involved with Public Relations so I have a lot of ideas
about that. The key is targeting freshman because they live here and they are
the most excited for these events. I think a lot of social media, posters, and any
kind of visual advertisement would do the job.
o
Senator Harvey: You said you want to mainly target freshman, but if you want to
have a response from all students how would you do that? – The freshmen are
on campus; our weekly events are more for them because they are on campus.
We aim to target upperclassmen for larger events such as homecoming because
through surveying we have found they come to those events more.
o
Chairman Ascanio: By the end of your term what do you want to have
accomplished? – I would say success through a happy staff, a happy result from
big events, and have made one students day better. Our goal at Osprey
Productions is to directly help students by making them excited about attending
UNF.
o
Chairman Ascanio: How would you deal with conflict resolution? –The biggest
thing is to try not to get defensive and go about it with polite confrontation that
focuses on bettering one another through commination.

Senator Harvey: Motion to approve Katie Jackson as Osprey Productions
Director. Second. Discussion. Roll call vote passes 2-0-0.
ii. Osprey Productions Assistant Internal Director: Emily Wood

My major is Special Education with a concentration in Deaf Studies. I have been in
Osprey Productions for three years. I did the MELT program and was very involved. I was
Public Relations Coordinator, coming up with events and pulling some from the past. I
was then Sports and Leisure Coordinator, planning things such as laser tag and Larger
than Life Game Day, which all went very well. I have been in Osprey Productions since
my freshman and consider it my second home; I am very passionate about it. I think I
would do this job well as Assistant Director. I would be mostly supervising the
coordinators; since I was I was one last year I can help them with my knowledge about
what kind of events students like.
o
Senator Gaskill: You mentioned you did Public Relations for Osprey Productions,
how would you utilize that experience to your role now? – I definitely want to
target freshman as Katie said, they are very interested and we want them to
encourage campus life. I think that can be done through putting fliers up in
resident halls, making sure everyone sees our advertisements.
o
Chairman Ascanio: Do you have any ideas of some new ideas for events this
year? – Ultimately I want to leave that up to the coordinators, help them
facilitate their ideas and accomplish their goals. I would love to see the game
day come back bigger and better and different things like that.
o
Chairman Ascanio: Would you be able to fulfill Katie’s position if she wasn’t
there? – She’s actually leaving for France in a couple weeks so I will have to do
that very soon and I feel very confident in my abilities to be ready to handle
things while she is gone.

Senator Harvey: Motion to approve Emily Wood as Osprey Productions
Internal Assistant Director. Second. Discussion. Roll call vote passes 2-00.
iii. Club Alliance Director: Zachary Mease

I major in Ceramics and am currently a senior. I run the Ceramics Club. I decided to join
Club Alliance last semester as a coordinator because I felt something was going wrong in
Club Alliance with their organization of paperwork and filing. Through being involved I
have seen the problems and now as Director I have the authority to change them.
o
Senator Gaskill: You mentioned you’ve only been in Club Alliance for a short
time, do you feel qualified to run it with little time being involved? – I’m not
worried about not knowing what to do but more about the technicalities,
however, that can be easily solved through asking the right questions. I am a
confident leader through previous experience I have had managing. I feel
communication is the most important part of my position.
o
Chairman Ascanio: How will you improve the way clubs are run at UNF? – I think
that the biggest fallback with Club Alliance is the burden of paperwork,
searching for it, and so on. I think it discourages clubs from furthering
themselves, which I aim to get rid of. I plan to cut back on excess paperwork,
hopefully leading to a better relationship with clubs.
o
Chairman Ascanio: Do you have any experience finance-related, especially in
regards to the club-funding board? – I have had experience with my own club
and I feel that that gives me first hand experience about what clubs need,
related to finance. I think club status should also affect club funding as some
clubs have a more serious organization than others.
o
Senator Harvey: Is the club you have under UNF clubs? If so, does that account
you for any bias towards what you were just saying? – I have my own opinions
about professional clubs attempting to better themselves and their members
through professional development.

Senator Harvey: Motion to approve Zachary Mease as Club Alliance
Director. Second. Discussion. Roll call vote passes 2-0-0.
iv. Club Alliance Assistant Director: Leah Tolisano

I major in Psychology, with a double minor in Business Administration and Community
Leadership. I started off as a Student Assistant and the past year I was Senate Secretary.
I have been involved in planning a lot of events such as Senator Orientation, maintaining
deadlines, and helping the Legislative Branch run. I helped out a lot during agency
events this past year and learned I want to be more involved with students on a
personal level.

Senator Harvey: Motion to approve Leah Tolisano as Club Alliance
Assistant Director. Second. Discussion. Roll call vote passes 2-0-0.
v. Director of Student Life: Farouk Smith

I am a sophomore, majoring in Political Science with a minor in English. Coming into
college, I decided to get engaged in campus life. I was involved in Areas Council, pretty
much acting as a liaison to students about what they wanted. I know with this position I
will be working with Club Alliance, Osprey Productions, and the Executive Branch. I want
to make Homecoming bigger and not so focused on Greek so that anyone can get
involved. I have talked to Josh Baker to get athletics more involved, ideas such as
tailgating have come up.
o
Chairman Ascanio: How will you make students excited and more attracted to
Homecoming that aren’t Greek? – Students that aren’t green feel left out and I
want to make sure that students feel invited to all events as they have done this
past year. Through events I want to make these students feel encouraged to
participate in it is as an all campus event.

Senator Harvey: Motion to approve Farouk Smith as the Director of
Student Life. Second. Discussion. Roll call vote passes 2-0-0.
