REQUEST FOR SABBATICAL LEAVE
INSTRUCTIONS
UNF faculty members who wish to be considered for a sabbatical leave are required to submit a the
attached application form. Sabbatical applications should be submitted to the Chair of your
department. After writing a recommendation for each applicant, the Department Chair should
submit all application packages to the College Dean for subsequent review and recommendations.
Faculty members, Chairs, and Deans are requested to observe the following deadlines and terms:
a) 2016-17 Sabbatical Deadline: completed sabbatical proposals are due in the Office of the
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs by 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 16th, 2015.
Provide 1 complete paper copy and 1 electronic copy (mailed to mjaffee@unf.edu).
b) The Sabbatical Committee will begin deliberations as soon as possible after October 16,
2015.
c) The results of the review process will be made available to all applicants before the end of
the Fall Semester, 2015.
d) The review of applications and subsequent sabbatical selections by the committee are based
on the quality of the application and its purported value to the faculty member, university,
and profession.
e) Within six weeks after returning to UNF, the faculty member must submit a brief written
report of sabbatical activities and their value to the university and faculty member.
