Electronic approval was sought by Sharon Ashton in the following e-mail:
IPC,
I would like to make three motions:
1) I would like to put a Level Two Alert on the homepage saying: “UNF is closed for Spring
Break Thursday, March 17 and Friday March 18.” I would like it to start running today.
2) We are down to one hot button on the portal and it is scheduled to come down at the end of the month. I know commencement will go up soon, but I hate to not use available space.
As we enter the summer semester, we are usually low on hot buttons. I would like to
propose that when we have availability like this, we authorize Jamie to automatically put up this hot button as the first default: “Do you know how UNF handles emergencies? Find out how you can stay informed in the event of a crisis.” The “more” would link to www.unf.edu/emergency
3) IF we still have fewer than three hot buttons up at any given time, I would like to authorize
Jamie to put up what would be considered the second default hot button, the Facebook hot button with the same language/icon we have had up in the past. As we have seen from other campuses (like Eastern Tenn State University a few weeks ago) a real crisis causes server issues and the students go to Facebook to find out information. The more students we can get to sign up for UNF’s Facebook, the better.
I would ask you to vote on these three motions separately. In other words, please respond by saying “I vote yes on #1 and #2 and no on #3” or something along those lines so we can keep the vote straight.
Motion to approve hot button e-mail, Seconded by Marianne
Jaffee, all in favor, motion passed.
