The International Center wishes to request a MyWings portal Hot Button for International Education
Week (IEW) 2011, November 14-19. IEW is a worldwide initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the
U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and
attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. The
International Center is proud to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange with
programs such as the Oxfam Hunger Banquet, World Fest Village, International Trivia Bowl, and the
Regional Councils Social as part of International Education Week.
The various associated events include educational, cultural, and campus life opportunities open to all
current students, faculty and staff. The greatly expanded programming is partly funded by the Student
Life and Services Fee and Student Government, and on top of being a campus life initiative is a major draw
and promotion for UNF’s expanded international offerings. As you know, Student Affairs plans to make
these offerings a fundamental part of the division’s and UNF’s identity, designed to increase student
connection, retention, satisfaction, and to serve as a draw for prospective students. IEW’s capstone
event, World Music Fest, will take place on Saturday evening and was specifically scheduled and planned
according to President Delaney’s push for more weekend programming on campus, so we’d like to get the
word out as much as possible. This is not a ticketed event.

2. Office of Medical Compliance Hot Button on myWings Request –

The Office of Medical Compliance is again requesting the use of a “Hot Button” on the MyWings portal
for the purpose of providing an easy link to the spring 2012 Medical Insurance Plan that is now available.
Since we have a new Insurance Plan (United Health Care) and new Plan Administrator (Gallagher-Koster),
this “Hot Button” will benefit both new and existing students who are looking to obtain information on the
health care policy that we are offering here at UNF. This “Hot Button” would also be beneficial to the
International Students, who are required to have medical coverage while enrolled at UNF. The “Hot
Button” would take them directly to our Medical Compliance web-site. There the students will find a link
that will take them to the Gallagher-Koster web site that was designed specifically for UNF students and
caters to both Domestic and International students. It provides detailed information and on-line enrollment
for the medical plans as well as an affordable dental plan. We would like to utilize the “Hot Button” from
November 21, 2012 thru open enrollment, ending Friday, February 3, 2011.
