Presented by Mark Sturge
Exploring and Preserving History Workshop
Igniting Faith
Objective
• Provoke you to participate in the process
Three points
1. Our stories must be credible
2. We must ensure that our presence and contributions are
recorded and acknowledged
3. No one can tell your story like you can – So be aware of
your lenses.

Igniting Faith
Ensuring our stories are credible
• Examples from personal reflection
• The challenge is for our contribution to have:
1. Credibility in relation to scripture
2. Credibility of leadership
3. Credibility in Christian disciplines
• This is not an invitation to sandpaper or gloss over reality

Igniting Faith
Value your presence and contribution
• Example from personal reflection
• Key Questions
1. What is our rightful place?
2. Who should speak for us?
3. How do we get our main actors to participate and be
recognised?
4. When history is written, “What should the record show about
our contribution?”
• The process should enable you to create new templates
to fill the gaps
• How do you ensure your presence and contribution are
recorded
