2011-12 GRANT GUIDELINES
The North Idaho College Foundation Board of Directors is proud to sponsor the Foundation Grant
Program for the 18th consecutive year! Charitable dollars raised each year provide the resources to fund
this grant program, which strives to foster innovation and creativity to further enhance excellence at NIC.
Since 1994, the NIC Foundation has funded 197 grants totaling $878,578 through this particular grant
program with the average grant ranging from $500 to $5,000. The NIC Foundation is pleased to be able to
award $55,000 again this year.
The goal of the grant program is to encourage outstanding instruction and strengthen support services at
North Idaho College. The focus of the funding will be on programs and projects that advance the college's
Strategic Plan and are not currently funded through other budgetary sources. All North Idaho College
faculty, staff and student groups funded through the standard college budget process are eligible to apply.
A selection committee—comprised of representatives from the NIC Foundation Board and members of
the faculty, staff and student body—will review each grant application to make sure that the information
presented is reasonable, understandable, measurable and achievable.
Foundation Grant Applications require signatures from the appropriate supervisor, director or division
chair, and dean. Once these signatures are obtained, submit your grant request to the appropriate vice
president for review and signature no later than 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011. For those who
report directly to the President, applications need to be submitted to the NIC Foundation no later than
