Sangamon-Menard Extension Unit 4-H Project Activities and Exhibit Requirements Project: Leadership 2 Suggested for: Grades 7-9 Latest Starting Date: May 1 Recommended Project Activities: • Strive to develop a positive self image. • Learn to safely and effectively communicate using technology. • Practice managing time, money, and resources. • Give a talk or demonstration related to the project. • Complete your Project Planning Sheet. Project Exhibit Requirements: Building upon your previous work, continue adding to your binder portfolio with a minimum of four (4) completed activities each year, from the areas noted below. Photocopies or original pages of the completed activities from the book should be included in the portfolio. Use of page protectors is recommended. Exhibit will NOT be labeled “Do Not Touch.” Displays are limited to 2’ wide x 15” deep. First Year – One activity from each of the following: Understanding Self; Communication; and Getting Along with Others, plus one of exhibitor’s choice. Second Year – One activity from each of the following: Getting Along with Others; Learning to Learn; and Making Decisions, plus one of exhibitor’s choice. Third Year – One activity from each of the following: making Decisions; Managing; and Working with Groups, plus one of exhibitor’s choice. Exhibitors age 10 and older must fill out a 1 page 4-H Exhibit Report to include with their exhibit. The 4-H Exhibit Report can be found on our county website at http://web.extension.uiuc.edu/sangamonmenard/4hyouth1157.html under the printable forms section. If you do not have internet access you can contact your 4-H leader, or call the Extension Office to receive a copy of the report form. EXHIBIT ELIGIBLE FOR STATE FAIR -- 4-H member must be 10 years of age by September 1 of the current 4-H year to exhibit at the State Fair. REVISED 1/2011
