Macoupin County 4-H Record Review
How to get more involvement in record judging:
 Every club must sent x number of people based on number of members.
Will take a vote on this suggestion at next meeting.
Yellow Sheets/Written Summaries:
 Rosie Huff moved to get rid of yellow sheets. Annette Cole seconded that
motion.
 We will look to include a written summary on the Il member records form
for an extra 2 point credit. We will follow up at the next meeting.
Members can gather ideas from their clubs.
Review of Achievement Night 2009
Input on Achievement Night:
 Too long
 Took drinks away too early
 Food was not good
 Play the slide show on repeat and just keep it playing while people are
eating. Make pictures larger. Let the presentation run longer.
 Club pictures – can we take those ahead of time?
 The reservations were made on estimates and we had a number of no
shows
 Look for another caterer – open it up for suggestions
Total Expenses for this year: $3856.07
Rookie of the Year for 2010: suggestion was made that a sub-committee be
formed to establish criteria. A vote can be made after that is established.
4-H Policies
Policies were distributed and reviewed. Questions regarding new policies
contact Paula.
2010 Macoupin County 4-H Fair dates
State fair discrepancies in checks need to be in by 12/1.
Fair dates are as follows: Public Presentation – 6/3, Mini Fair – 6/12, Foods
Show – 6/25, Clothing Show – 7/12, County Fair Week – 7/19 thru 7/23, General
Show – 7/19, Horse Show – 6/16 (rain date 7/1)
Rosie Huff motioned to accept the fair dates. Annette Cole seconded that
motion.
Suggestion was made that clubs could use the extra space in the 4-H building to
display International Night or Science Fair displays.
4-H Federation
Report of Events: Tie Dye event was held at beginning of 4-H year. Weenie
Roast was held at Lisa’s home last month. Though attendance was not large,
both events were big hits. Next meeting is planned for 1/24/2010 at 2:30 at the
extension office.
Pork Cookout on the square will be held on 6/18/2010.
Suggestion was made that the Federation look into organizing a fishing derby
once again.

Small Engines club will start up in January, 2010.
Mock Trial will be in March, 2010
Michelle Wolff motioned that we hold International Night in April, 2010. Rosie
Huff seconded that motion.
Macoupin County will be investigating shooting sports: archery/riffle/hand guns.
We are in need of someone to be the coordinator for each event. That would
involve 3 days of training. If you know of anyone interested, contact Kate.
The following ideas were raised for consideration for future workshop/special
interest clubs:
 Woodworking
 Photography
 Presentation (i.e. power point)
 Sewing
 Foods
 Welding
