Fall Food Shower
November 19, 2011
13th
Annual
You are invited to support the
Boone County 4-H Federation’s Fall
Food Shower & harvest some food
for the Salvation Army Food Pantry
All donations of food or money
must be dropped off at the Extension Office between
9:00 a.m. & 11:30 a.m.
Regardless of how you do it, it only takes a short time to
collect food. Wouldn’t it be great if every 4-H club
participated? Each club participating will receive a
certificate.
The Salvation Army gives out food baskets to
households in need in Boone County each
month. They also accept cash donations,
which they use to buy perishables and items
they do not receive through donation.
PLEASE JOIN US IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN
BOONE COUNTY!

Ideas to help you collect
food
During Trick-or-Treat hours, wear a 4-H shirt & go from door
to door collecting food.
Ask customers coming into a grocery store to donate
food – they can purchase items while they do their own
shopping – be sure to get the store’s permission, first.
Have a scavenger hunt – go from door to door with a list
of food items needed and try to find every item on the
list.
Collect money & use it to buy food or donate it to the
Salvation Army for them to buy perishable items.
