A research assistantship is available for a PhD student to study the mechanical behavior of big
horn sheep horns and bone beginning in 2015. Candidates with a BS or MS degree in
mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering (with a strong emphasis on engineering
mechanics) are preferred. The research will involve mechanical testing, materials
characterization, histological analyses, and possibly finite element modeling depending on the
candidate’s background and interests. Interested candidates should email a CV and 1 page
