Dear Graduate Student:
The School of Nursing has been awarded Professional Nurse Traineeships (PNT) by the Division of Nursing

the post-master’s certificate option.

4.
Enrolled as a full-time student (9 s.h. or more per semester). Part-time students must be
enrolled in the last 12 months of study prior to graduation to be eligible or be a doctoral

not to exceed 36 months.
5.
Maintenance of the academic standard of a 3.0 GPA.
6.
Eligible for national nursing certification in the nursing specialty or field of study (as
applicable) following graduation.
The purpose of these traineeships is to expedite graduate students completing their degree and moving into
the world of employment as quickly as possible. These funds may cover tuition and fees. This traineeship
has no payback requirement. Trainees must agree to submit data regarding professional activity following
graduation to the Division of Nursing, as requested, for three years following AEN Traineeship support. The
award of a traineeship under the PNT Program does not make an individual an employee of the Public
Health Service. Determination of the tax status of an individual receiving a traineeship is the responsibility of
the Internal Revenue Service.
