1. Report on AtD Coaches visit November 13th and 14th
Focus: Math: How to get more students enrolled in Math 137?
Need spots held (cohort?) 115125, and 123 sequence
need to institutionalize support services (tutoring, STEM center, etc.)
English: don’t have enough sections to offer more 28&101
Need admin support - need person in charge of registering
Assessment prep tests: need ability to track students who use them
ESL: need to evaluate credit/non-credit division. Modules? Labs? Accelerated pathways?
2. Report on Assessment/Placement Summit
(Common Assessment Initiative was presented at Academic Senate meeting)
West LA’s “West Expressway” online modules (mandatory sequence)
Pierce’s Assessment Prep Workshops (can retake assessment if attend workshop)
Virginia: 8 (1)unit credit modules – skills based modules – only take what they need
4. DREAM 2015: Annual National AtD Conference
Need commitments soon – BSI Funding request to cover $$
February 17-20, 2015 in Baltimore, MD (main days are Wed & Thurs)
Registration $550 before Dec.16th ($650 after Dec 16th)
2 pre-institute workshops $300 (on Tues)
Conference rates:
Hilton Baltimore: $159 + tax & fees per night
