Speech-language pathology (SLP) is an exciting and rewarding discipline that blends the multifaceted worlds of health sciences, speech and hearing sciences, communication, and communication disorders. A career in SLP offers opportunities to work with diverse populations ranging in age from birth to geriatrics. Degrees in speech-language pathology range from the undergraduate degree to the entry-level master's degree and advanced clinical and academic degrees at the doctoral level. American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Why Speech-Language Pathology at Ithaca College? Ithaca College awards bachelor of science and master of science degrees in speech-language pathology. The undergraduate program provides an excellent clinical and academic foundation in basic human communication processes, development, and disorders while providing a broadbased experience in liberal arts and general education. The capstone experience of the undergraduate degree in SLP is experiential learning through clinical practica during the junior or senior year at the Sir Alexander Ewing-Ithaca College Speech and Hearing Clinic or at an approved off-campus clinic site, such as Longview or Head Start. Ithaca College students are well prepared to enter graduate degree programs in speech-language pathology and related fields of study.
