Persuasive Speech Peer Evaluation (TYPED)
1-Was the introduction (the first few lines of the speech) attention-grabbing and interesting?
What technique did the speaker use?
2-How did speaker establish credibility and build rapport with the audience? Was the thesis
statement clearly presented and was it supported throughout the speech?
3-Did the speaker include a preview statement? Was it clearly stated?
4-How well did the speaker establish Main Point 1? (think of the evidence/research used and the
variety of evidence)-did the speaker create a sense of urgency when describing the
problem/need?
5-How well did the speaker establish Main Point 2? Did he/she provide a good solution and was
it backed up with evidence?
6-How well did the speaker establish Main Point 3? Did he/she get you to visualize results and
was pathos used? Provide Examples.
7-Did the speaker use transitions to move from one idea to another? Was the speech smooth in
flow?
8-Did the speaker orally cite three sources?
9-How was the speaker’s delivery (eye contact, gestures, posture, vocals, use of enthusiasm,
etc)?
