Johnetta Haley and the SIUe East St. Louis Center in Historical Perspective?

In collaboration with former faculty member Johnetta Haley, I would like to propose a
paper that deals with the historical role of the East St. Louis Center. The presentation
will cover the administration of Johnetta Haley and her great contributions to SIUe by
way of the Center. Specifically, the paper will discuss the programs that Haley
developed and attracted to the impoverished city. Further, the paper will highlight the
endurance of those programs, as many still exist today. In addition, the paper will
include Haley’s recollections of the obstacles and opportunities that confronted her as a
female director. The presentation will go between 35 and 45 minutes. Let me know if
