The Environment is not thinking about us.

We continue to act as if nature is not natural. We talk as if we can think about the
environment, have a roundtable, and from there leap into the happy result of an unnatural
world that’s some how all in harmony with the natural world. The fact is that the world
we have now is the most successful and productive structure ever created for people, but
can the natural world stand the stress? Not one single bridge, building, or highway ever
erupted spontaneously from the earth; yet bridges, buildings, and superhighways blanket
the planet. The scary part is that we often do not know that progress is creating a hazard
until the hazard becomes significant, and action becomes unavoidable.
