The following should be noted regarding the Application Process and Decisions: Our intention is to accept students who demonstrate the greatest likelihood of success. Decisions are based primarily on the student’s performance in collegiate level work and the required essay which must be appropriate and written at a collegiate level to be considered for admission. Other factors that may be considered in the decision include (but are not limited to) number of prerequisite courses completed at the time of application, courses taken, pattern and trend of grades, institutions attended, co-curricular activities, contribution to the diversity of the student body, as well as career or work related experience. The process is competitive and not all students who apply will be admitted. While applicants must have at least a 2.25 combined cumulative grade point average to be considered, the combined cumulative grade point average of applicants who have been accepted in recent semesters has been 3.0. Students not accepted by the School will not be allowed to register for 300-level business courses. Within 45 days of the application deadline, you will be notified of the decision by letter via US Mail. Remember to check your mail at the address you provide on your application. Required Essay: In no more than 750 words, please respond to the following: A generous business education foundation is accepting scholarship applications from students who are completing a business degree. As a part of the scholarship application students are required to reflect on their major choice and discuss in writing their interests in their major and their progress as a student. Your task is to write the essay to accompany the Scholarship application. Because the Scholarship Committee is very busy, your essay must be complete enough to convince them that you are a worthy recipient of the Scholarship in no more than 750 words. All essays are required to address at least the following: 1) Explain your interest in the major you selected. You may describe a related experience you’ve had to that area of study and/or your future career goals; 2) Discuss the qualities which you believe are necessary to be successful in the major you have selected; and 3) Discuss your biggest weaknesses as a student and indicate how you plan to address or overcome those weaknesses as you pursue your selected major. Optional Essay: Respond to the following question if you would like the admission committee to have additional information about your personal qualities and life experiences.
